Salted Caramel Coffee



INGREDIENTS:

  • Avenidas coffee

  • 1 cup brown sugar

  • 2 1/2 cups water

  • 2 tsp vanilla extract

  • 1/2 tsp sea salt

  • Cream of choice

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Heat 1 1/2 cups water over medium heat in a small saucepan

  2. Add brown sugar and stir

  3. Let boil until it reaches a dark amber color (about 30 minutes)

  4. Remove from heat

  5. Heat remaining 1 cup water and add it to the syrup

  6. Add vanilla extract and sea salt

  7. Brew 1 cup Avenidas coffee

  8. Pour coffee into a mug

  9. Add syrup to taste

  10. Top with cream (we mixed heavy whipping cream and the salted caramel syrup)

  11. Garnish with sea salt

Store extra salted caramel syrup in a sealed container in the fridge for up to one month!
