INGREDIENTS:
Avenidas coffee
1 cup brown sugar
2 1/2 cups water
2 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 tsp sea salt
Cream of choice
DIRECTIONS:
Heat 1 1/2 cups water over medium heat in a small saucepan
Add brown sugar and stir
Let boil until it reaches a dark amber color (about 30 minutes)
Remove from heat
Heat remaining 1 cup water and add it to the syrup
Add vanilla extract and sea salt
Brew 1 cup Avenidas coffee
Pour coffee into a mug
Add syrup to taste
Top with cream (we mixed heavy whipping cream and the salted caramel syrup)
Garnish with sea salt
Store extra salted caramel syrup in a sealed container in the fridge for up to one month!
